Kevin Cross, CPA

After 17 years of leading one of South Florida’s best known Christian accounting and tax practices, Kevin has passed the baton and answered the call to communicate God’s message of “True Financial Freedom.” In 1988, following an arrest, expulsion from law school, and over $100 thousand dollars in debt, Kevin was employed as a hotel valet when God touched his life in a profound way.  Wearing women’s garden shoes (because they were cheaper) and parking the gleaming Jaguar of Channel 10 Miami News Anchor Dwight Lauderdale, he turned the radio dial and happened upon a show hosted by Larry Burkett (of the then Christian Financial Concepts now Crown Financial Ministries).  Burkett’s words that night changed his spending habits, but they also changed his heart.

In 1990 he became a Volunteer Budget Counselor (now known as a Money Map Coach).  Each Thursday his office would close and become a free financial counseling clinic to anyone who was led to receive budget and debt counseling.  The life changes Kevin witnessed as a Volunteer Budget Counselor served as inspiration to creatively communicate the message of True Financial Freedom as a Crown Seminar Instructor.

During his 17 years in practice, he spoke frequently about taxes and finances on local radio shows and tax and accounting professionals seminars.  As well as being published by CPA Today Magazine, Kevin has a Masters degree in taxation, and has passed the US Treasury Special Enrollment Exam (EA), but now considers all that as “rubbish” compared to “knowing Christ”.  His new passion is communicating God’s message of financial freedom in an entertaining, but reverent way (http://www.miamiherald.com/367/story/873755.html).

Kevin's speaking engagements have brought him to many Florida churches and as far away as Washington DC, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica and Brazil.  While he was a finalist in the 2005 South Florida Business Journal’s “Up & Comer’s Award”, his greatest honor is seeing lives changed each weekend God places him at an event, speaking engagement or Margin & Meaning coaching.  Kevin is the author of the book, "Building Your Financial Fortress in 52 Days: The Lessons of Nehemiah." 

Kevin Cross lives with his family in Hallandale, Florida, in a cozy little apartment with his sweetheart and supportive wife Stephanie, daughter Rachel and son Ethan.  His goal is to see 10,000 people per year embracing the life that is truly life and one person per day accepting Christ as their Savior. It’s a BIG GOAL, but that’s why we have a BIG GOD.
